When you look for a local pet artist in County Durham, what you really want is someone to notice the details that make your companion theirs. For the cat portraits shown here, I work from a photograph you choose and paint an original watercolour by hand. A familiar tilt of the head or the intensity of a cat's eyes can be more meaningful than any formal pose.

The photograph you already have
You might have taken the perfect picture months ago and forgotten it was on your phone. Look for the image that makes you pause: your cat stretched out in their usual place, looking straight at you or resting in the light. Upload that photo and let me make something you can display on your wall, where it gets to shine instead of staying hidden in your camera roll.
For a cat-loving friend or family member, that picture can do half the work of choosing a gift. A painting of their own cat can make a thoughtful birthday present, Christmas gift, anniversary surprise or thank-you, because it starts with a memory they recognise.

A personal painting, not a copied photo
A clear, well-lit photograph helps me study your cat's markings and expression. I then paint with watercolour by hand, allowing the washes and lines to give the finished artwork its own character. You receive an original painting, not a printed version of your photograph.
These examples show three different cat portraits. Each pose offers a way to think about which photograph feels most like the animal you know. You can choose the picture yourself without arranging a studio visit.
